Solo decir que para el próximo domingo 24 de septiembre hay prevista una jornada valenciana en Nueva York, en la que se realizara una paella gigante en Central Park, si quereis probarla solo teneis que pasaros por alli....... .

Presentación de la Fundación Astroc en la ciudad de New York (EEUU)



La Fundación Astroc, con motivo de su presentación en la ciudad de Nueva York, tiene el placer de invitar a degustar la auténtica paella valenciana a los ciudadanos de esta ciudad estadounidense.

Este evento tendrá lugar en Central Park a la altura de la calle 72, el corazón de Manhattan, el domingo 24 de septiembre desde las 11 a.m. hasta las 4 p.m. para dar la oportunidad de disfrutar de esta especialidad gastronómica, tan apreciada internacionalmente, a la mayor cantidad de personas posible, repartiendo un total de 20.000 raciones.

La paella será elaborada a la usanza tradicional por cocineros desplazados expresamente desde Valencia para la ocasión.

Los asistentes podrán disfrutar de las más antiguas tradiciones de la moderna ciudad que acoge la Copa América 2007.

Se contará con un grupo folklórico de baile, la actuación en directo de "dolçaina i tabalet" y una gran banda que interpretará temas musicales de esta comunidad autónoma.

ASTROC Foundation invites 20,000 people for “paella” in New York’s Central Park

ASTROC Foundation’s debut in New York will be celebrated with paella in the heart of the big apple. Over forty chefs from Valencia, Spain, will cook 100 paellas for 20,000 people starting at 11am on Sunday, September 24, at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park. All paella ingredients will be delivered from Spain especially for this occasion. These include:

- 300 litres of olive oil
- 960 kilos of beans
- 240 kilos of “garrofó” (type of bean from Valencia)
- 112 cans (2,5 kilos each) of minced tomatoes
- 5 kilos of paprika
- 4,460 litres of water
- 5 kilos of rosemary
- 2 kilos of colorant
- 1,700 kilos of rice

Chefs will start cooking early in the morning and paella will be served after 11am. Refreshments will also be offered.

The ASTROC Foundation will donate the first 5,000 servings to City Harvest, a non-profit food rescue organization that helps thousands of people in need in the NY area.

Originally from Valencia, the ASTROC foundation wants to highlight the region’s flavour in this event by inviting a band of 20 musicians to play traditional music as well as having a group of people dressing in the local traditional clothes. There will also be gifts for the attendees and other surprises to be announced by the organization in coming weeks.
